The founder of his own law firm based in Los Angeles, California, Thomas M. Lee divides his practice between labor and employment law and immigration matters, in both instances representing clients throughout the state. In the former area, he assists both employers and employees in a variety of matters, including wage and hour claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the state's overtime laws governed by the Department of Industrial Relations. Mr. Lee also represents victims of sexual harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination and other forms of prohibited retaliation. He has been able to obtain several millions of dollars in settlements and jury awards for his employee clients in these cases. Mr. Lee also has advised employers and prepared and reviewed employee manuals and handbooks as well as confidentiality and severance agreements, and he has represented them in claims being heard in court and in arbitration proceedings.In his immigration practice, Mr. Lee provides representation to both people and companies in several related areas. These include E-2 investor visas, marital and other family immigration, employment-based and other types of green cards, PERM labor certifications, change of status, reinstatement of F-1 international student status, and applications for citizenship. Mr. Lee has enjoyed an extraordinary success rate in these matters, with an approval rate of well over 90 percent.Mr. Lee attended Occidental College in Los Angeles as an undergraduate, where he majored in economics and received a bachelor's degree in 1995. He then pursued his legal education at Loyola Law School, and he was awarded his Juris Doctor in 2000.
