- Partner at De Ita, Lowe & Wald, LLP, Joanna M. Wald is a family law, divorce and workers’ compensation attorney representing the people in San Mateo County in California. A former intern with the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and with the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, Ms. Wald also spent time as an analyst for the University of California, San Francisco before pursuing a legal career helping those who are going through trying times in their families and those who have been injured on the job.Admitted to practice in California, Ms. Wald is a member of the San Mateo Area Chamber of Commerce, The State Bar of California and the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association. She is also a board member of the Women Lawyers Foundation and a member of the San Mateo County Bar Association’s Diversity Committee and its Family Law Section; she also serves as vice president of its Barristers Section.Ms. Wald obtained her Bachelor of Arts and graduated on the dean’s list from San Francisco State University before attending San Francisco Law School. In 2014, she obtained her Juris Doctor. While in law school she was named Student of the Year, given the Best Overall Scores Award of the Tyler Moot Court and the Witkin Award in Civil Procedure.An active member of her community who is passionate about giving back, Ms. Wald does pro bono work and volunteers with several organizations. She currently volunteers with San Mateo County Lawyers in The Library, the San Mateo Superior Court’s Weekly Family Law Status Conference and the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County.
