Chris Messerly, partner at Robins Kaplan LLP, has made a name for himself as the premier personal injury and unlawful death attorney. Based in the company's headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he represents customers throughout the state, in Wisconsin, North Dakota, and other parts of the country who have been harmed by the negligence of other people or organizations. Although a significant portion of his practice focuses on medical misconduct, Mr. Messerly also has extensive experience in cases involving defective products and other related areas. During his career, Mr. Messerly has received numerous significant comparisons and jury awards on behalf of his clients in many publicly known cases. One of them resulted in a jury award of $ 20.6 million in a hospital negligent death, the largest unlawful death sentence in Minnesota history. Another case involved a motor vehicle accident in which he received a jury award of over $ 10 million for the parents of a teenage boy who suffered a traumatic brain injury. In addition, Mr. Messerly headed a consortium of multiple law firms that represented injured victims and surviving family members of people who died in the 2007 I-35W bridge collapse in Minneapolis. Mr. Messerly received a Juris Doctorate with Honors from what was then Hamline University School of Law in 1986. He was licensed to practice law in Minnesota and Wisconsin and practiced as a lawyer in multiple federal and appeals courts.
