While in law school, he served as a member of the San Diego Law Review. As an undergraduate, Mr. Kassan attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1979.During his long career, Mr. Kassan has also worked on a volunteer basis as a mediator and has served as a judge pro tem. He is admitted to practice law before the state courts of California, the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.Mr. Kassan has been actively involved in a number of legal and nonprofit associations, and is currently the President of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association where he has served as a trustee since 2012. He is also an active member of the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the California Employment Lawyers Association. Mr. Kassan has been frequently invited to speak to a variety of organizations on topics related to his field, including the National Association for Home Care & Hospice, California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform, the Private Duty Homecare Association, the American Society on Aging and the Aging Life Care Association.
