He helped to establish and served as founding president of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and he was the former chair of the organization's Amicus Brief Committee as well as an active member of its Medicaid Task Force. He is also a co-founder of the National Alliance of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals as well as the founding president of Guardian Partners.Moreover, Mr. Nay is a founding member and past chair of the Oregon State Bar's Elder Law Section. He has also served as president for both the Alzheimer’s Association of Oregon and the Oregon Gerontological Association, and he serves on the advisory board of the Academy of Special Needs Planners, among his other professional affiliations.Recognized for his impeccable professionalism and contributions to his field, Mr. Nay received the President’s Award from the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys in 2007, and he won the Theresa Award in 2019. He has also earned high praise from his peers as well as many positive review and referrals from his satisfied clients.A 1968 graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, Mr. Nay obtained his Juris Doctor from Willamette University in 1984. He also holds his Master of Arts in counseling psychology from Chapman University in Orange, California, as well as his Master of Social Work in clinical social work from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. He is licensed to practice in both Oregon and Washington.
