- At Fish & Tsang LLP, Robert D. Fish is the founding partner, representing clients in Orange County and all of Silicon Valley in legal issues of patents, trademarks, copyrights and litigation. Experienced with state, federal and international cases, Mr. Fish has worked with clients in almost every industry and has almost 30 years of experience in intellectual property law. Several foreign law firms retain Mr. Fish as their United States counsel.Mr. Fish earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in natural science. Next attending the California Western School of Law, he earned a Juris Doctor. A talented and humorous writer, Mr. Fish has authored several complete guides explaining the patent process, is a regular contributor to California Business Litigation, designs board games with patent themes and creates the “Patent Beast” comic strip. With experience as both an arbitrator and a mediator, Mr. Fish has appealed cases before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, the Federal Circuit and the Board of Patient Appeals and Interferences. He is currently a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the American Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, the Federal Circuit Bar Association and the Orange County Intellectual Property Law Association.Serving clients of all sizes, ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, Mr. Fish is involved with arbitration, litigation, and inbound and outbound licensing for a variety of patent enforcement programs. When he is not handling matters of trademarks, patents and foreign filings, he enjoys outdoors sports, Aikido and research into treating health and disease through a nutritional approach.
