Harold Goodman's very first case was in defending his client's First Amendment rights in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. A unanimous decision in favor of his client indicated a lifelong commitment from Mr. Goodman to fight for victims of injustice. During his two decades with Community Legal Services in Philadelphia, Mr. Goodman served as the lead litigator on countless important cases, including successful fights to uphold the rights of injured workers and to promote the racial integration of unions and the Pennsylvania State Police. In the early 1990s, Mr. Goodman joined Raynes Lawn Hehmeyer's team to hold asbestos manufacturers accountable for introducing asbestos into our community's schools. Throughout his career, Mr. Goodman has been an excellent attorney in both court and appeals courts. He has argued and won cases in the United States Supreme Court on four occasions. In addition, he has argued and won more than ten cases in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and more than thirty cases in the United States Court of Appeals for the third circuit. Goodman dedicates its practice to representing victims of unlawful discrimination or ill-treatment, including but not limited to sexual harassment, sexual abuse, sexual discrimination, racial discrimination, age discrimination, discrimination based on a disability, civil rights, and violations of constitutional law. He also represents whistleblowers, ERISA claimants and plaintiffs under the False Claims Act. The ratings reflect the confidential opinions of members of the Bar Association and the judiciary.
