His numerous achievements include a South Carolina chemical case that involved 100 victims and a railroad chemical that injured more than 3,000 people. It was the second largest catastrophe of its kind in United States history. In total, Mr. McLeod has won over $ 150 million in judgments and settlements on behalf of injured clients over the course of his career. Because of his deep commitment to the state of South Carolina, Mr. McLeod served for two terms as chairman of the Charleston County's Democratic Party. He also attempted to run as the Democratic Party candidate for governor of South Carolina in 2010. Mr. McLeod is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and admitted to the US District Court for the District of South Carolina, the US District Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
