Robert J. Girard II, founding partner of Girard Bengali, APC, has over 17 years experience in securities disputes, securities arbitration and industrial disputes. He represents clients in Los Angeles, California and across the state. Prior to law school, Mr. Girard completed his undergraduate education at the University of Maryland in College Park in 1996. He then attended the Seton Hall University School of Law, where he graduated with a Juris Doctor cum laude in 2001. He was admitted to the California bar in 2001. After graduating from law school, Mr. Girard worked for two different major law firms in Los Angeles specializing in securities arbitration and litigation. His skills and determination have allowed him to build a reputation as a dedicated and fierce advocate of the interests of his clients. Girard supports institutional and individual investors in their litigation. He has reclaimed millions of dollars on behalf of his clients from a majority of Wall Street's largest brokers. In July 2017, Mr. Girard received a $ 1.8 million award for an elderly couple who were victims of financial abuse of the elderly. More than $ 1 million of the award was for punitive damages. He also represents securities professionals in their industrial disputes with broker-dealer firms. In one such case, Mr. Girard secured a $ 3.7 million arbitration award against a FINRA member in California on behalf of individual brokers. In another case, Mr Girard secured an extremely favorable settlement for a single broker who had been wrongly dismissed and received an award for deleting his Form U-5 after demonstrating that the language was wrong and defamatory to Girard is actively involved in several legal organizations. Its memberships include the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Italian American Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the National Association of Independent Brokers-Dealers, Inc.
