As a co-founding member of Weitz & Luxenberg, PC, Perry Weitz is committed to representing clients across the country, including those in New York, New York. He dedicates his practice to handling personal injury law cases that involve mesothelioma and asbestos exposure, as well as defective medical devices, environmental pollution and malpractice.In 1983, Mr. Weitz graduated with a Juris Doctor from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. Prior to law school, he received a Bachelor of Arts from The George Washington University.All his life, Mr. Weitz has had a passion for righting wrongs. Today, he represents victims of negligence who suffer from or have lost loved ones to asbestos-related illnesses. In one case, he represented 36 shipyard workers who had contracted mesothelioma. Mr. Weitz was so dedicated to the lawsuit that he mortgaged his home to pay for the necessary legal research. The result was a $75 million award for the victims.For his successes, he has been named in New York Magazine as a Top Rated Lawyer, and Public Justice honored him with its Champion of Justice award.A frequent guest speaker, Mr. Weitz serves on the board of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and he has served on boards of Public Justice, the Jewish Lawyers Guild and The Legal Aid Society. He also is a member of the American Association for Justice.
