Nicole Ramos Takemoto is an associate at Hartog, Baer & Hand APC, where she focuses her practice primarily on estate planning and administration. Based in Orinda, California, she furnishes dedicated representation to clients throughout the state, and she has been a member in good standing of The State Bar of California since 2008.In her estate planning practice, Ms. Takemoto regularly prepares and reviews wills, a variety of revocable and irrevocable trusts, financial and health care powers of attorney, and advance medical directives. In this regard, she advises her clients on the most applicable ways to protect and preserve their assets, taking into account the federal and state tax consequences. In addition, Ms. Takemoto provides advice and counsel to business owners on their succession planning in the event of their retirement, incapacity, or death, and her experience encompasses advising clients whose assets constitute a mixture of community and separately owned property.Majoring in legal studies, Ms. Takemoto attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, as an undergraduate, and she received a Bachelor of Arts in 2003. She then went on to pursue her legal education at Golden Gate University School of Law on a scholarship, and while she was there, she served several internships, including one with the State Board of Equalization. After being awarded her Juris Doctor in 2008, Ms. Takemoto was an attorney with an estate planning and administration firm while she continued her education at her law school alma mater, and she obtained an LL.M. with honors in taxation in 2010. Prior to joining Hartog, Baer & Hand APC in February 2018, she spent several years as an attorney with a leading trusts and estates firm in the Bay Area. Her professional memberships include the Contra Costa County Bar Association membership.
