- Matthew D. Easton is the Co-Managing Partner at Easton & Easton, LLP, located in Costa Mesa, California. For more than 20 years, his firm has focused exclusively on representing clients throughout Southern California who have been harmed by the negligent acts or omissions of others in cases involving aviation, mass transit and motor vehicle accidents, defective products, nursing home abuse, premises liability, medical malpractice and wrongful death. Since becoming Co-Managing Partner, Matt has lead the firm to acquire more than $100,000,000 for their clients in the past 5 years alone.Matt has represented hundreds of plaintiffs and litigated cases against the State of California, numerous cities, numerous school districts, and countless large corporate entities and other defendants. From 2015-2017, Matt also tought a class on Trial Technology at Whittier Law School as an Adjunct Professor to help prepare the next great litigators of Southern California.While his litigation experience and trial technology skills ensure that he is always prepared and ready to take a case to trial if that is what is necessary to obtain just compensation for his clients, Matt has also used his negotiating acumen to arrive at numerous very favorable settlements prior to entering the courtroom. Among his recent successes are a settlement of $20 million for a hotly disputed premises liability matter, $3 million for a lane splitting motorcycle accident, $2.75 million for the wrongful death of an unmarried 55-year-old man with no economic losses, $2 million for a man injured in a fall from scaffolding, $2.15 million for a neglected foster child, $1.8 million for motorcyclist who suffered a severe wrist fracture, $1.8 million for a minor who suffered a cervical fracture (with no paralysis) in a head-on collision, $1.3 million for a woman who was rear-ended by a drunk driver trying to evade the police, $1.24 million for a woman whose breast reconstruction incision ruptured after a T-bone auto collision, $1 million for a ride-share driver t-boned on his way to pickup a passanger, $850,000 for a man burned on his legs when a spare Vape battery exploded and caught fire in his pant pocket, $400,000 for a slip and fall on a loose grape in a grocery store, $350,000 for a slip-and-fall at a big box chain store, and substantial confidential amounts for a defective Disney watch that burned the wrist of a minor, a defective motor vehicle that rolled over the leg of its driver, and a defective step-ladder that amputated the finger of a client testing the product for purchase.Prior to joining the firm, Matt was awarded a full scholarship to attend Whittier Law School, where he served as Chief Justice for the Moot Court Honors Board and served on both the Trial Advocacy Honors Board and Whittier Law Review before receiving his Juris Doctor magna cum laude in 2009.Believing in helping others, Matt spent two years in Mexico City on a mission for his church, during which he became fluent in Spanish and developed a love for the people and culture of the Hispanic community. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys camping, rock climbing, skiing, wakeboarding, waterskiiing, mountain biking, golf, volleyball, basketball, and tennis.Matt is happily married to Rachel Easton, a talented author, and they have two beautiful boys, Ronan and Liam.
