Through his current legal practice, which he established in 1996, he and his team of associates handle approximately 500 consumer bankruptcy cases each year.Recognized as one of the area's leading bankruptcy attorneys, Mr. Perlman has appeared on several televised and radio news outlets, where he offered in-depth legal commentary on a variety of topics related to bankruptcy, and he currently serves as an attorney instructor for the New Jersey Bankruptcy Law Foundation. He has also testified before the New Jersey Legislature regarding a bill aimed at reducing abusive debt collection practices.In addition, Mr. Perlman has numerous publications to his credit, and he conducts continuing legal education seminars and lectures across his region. He is also an active member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, the Rutgers University's Bankruptcy Pro Bono Project Steering Committee and the Supreme Court of New Jersey District Ethics Committee, among his other professional affiliations.Mr. Perlman volunteers his time and services with Camden Regional Legal Services, and he received a Justice Medal of Honor from the Legal Services of New Jersey in 2010 for his exceptional pro bono service.
