Kathy Love is a partner at McGinn, Carpenter, Montoya & Love, P.A., located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Focusing her practice on personal injury and wrongful death litigation, she represents clients throughout the state who have been harmed by the negligence of other parties in cases involving medical malpractice, truck accidents, nursing home neglect and defective products. Ms. Love also assists people whose civil rights have been violated, such as a 2014 case in which she represented the family members of a victim of police brutality. Ms. Love received a Bachelor of Science from Ball State University in 1991. She then went on to attend DePaul University College of Law and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1995. After graduation, Ms. Love spent several years with the Law Offices of the Public Defender of the state of New Mexico before joining her current firm in 2000. She is admitted to practice in New Mexico as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. An active participant in a variety of professional organizations, Ms. Love's memberships have included the American Association for Justice, the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is frequently asked to speak at continuing legal education seminars on trial tactics and similar topics.
