- Attorney Kathryn M. Davis is the founder and owner of the Law Office of Kathryn M. Davis in Pasadena, California. Certified as an Appellate Law Specialist by the State Bar of California's Board of Legal Specialization and possessing more than 21 years of total legal experience, Ms. Davis represents a diverse range of clients throughout Los Angeles County and the surrounding areas of Southern California who seek to challenge a previous court's ruling regarding their cases.Having started as a successful litigation attorney, Ms. Davis has focused primarily on appeals since 2006, and she has handled numerous cases before state and federal appellate courts across her region. During this time, she has gained significant success representing her clients with a host of complex legal matters in the areas of land use and zoning, regulatory matters, products liability, intellectual property, commercial law, bankruptcy, probate, civil rights, employment law, constitutional law, and more. In addition, she has handled numerous arbitrations as well as preemptive matters.A 1989 honors graduate of California State University, Ms. Davis obtained her Juris Doctor magna cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of Law in 1998. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, the California Court of Appeals, and both the California and U.S. Supreme Courts.While in law school, she served as associate articles editor of the Hastings Law Journal, and she received the Excellence for the Future Award and the American Jurisprudence Award for Comparative Criminal Procedure and Evidence. A recipient of the Percy C. Towne and Basye Family Scholarships, Ms. Davis graduated Order of the Coif and was a member of the prestigious Thurston Society.Along with maintaining a successful appellate practice, Ms. Davis also serves as adjunct legal professor at the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where she is also co-chair of the Ninth Circuit Appellate Litigation Clinic. In addition, she has served as adjunct professor of law at Chapman University School of Law's Ninth Circuit Appellate Litigation Clinic.Active in her legal community, Ms. Davis is a member of the American Bar Association's Council of Appellate Lawyers and the Appellate Courts Section and Amicus Briefs Committee for the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Editorial Board for The State Bar of California's Journal of the Litigation Section as well as appointed member of the Standing Committee for The State Bar of California.
