- Work Experience: Jody Stahancyk has built her reputation as a strong woman with a generous heart, a formidable opponent in the courtroom, and a pillar of her community. She started her law firm in 1973 as an assistant district attorney in Multnomah County, where she successfully prosecuted for 6 years. In 1979 she was appointed a judge (Pro-tem Judge) of the Juvenile Court of Multnomah County, where she sat until 1982. After that appointment, she served for a year as an assistant attorney general in the Oregon Consumer Protection Department. From 1983 until she began private practice in 1986, Jody was a full-time mother and wife. Jody founded this firm in 1986 and to date has made innovative and creative advances in family law. She prides itself on creative solutions to tough problems in every area of her job. Professional Activities: Jody is a member of the Oregon State Bar and a member of several local law firms where she has served on various committees. Jody regularly lectures at law education seminars and is visiting professor at various colleges and law schools in Oregon. Community Activities: Jody is currently the President of the Board of Directors at Child Centered Solutions, a nonprofit she founded. Previously, he served on the boards of Kinderhilfe Kindergarten, Perry Center, Boys and Girls Club, Children's Fund, Lutheran Family Services and acted as trustee of Linfield College. Jody particularly enjoys working with the SK&H High School Intern Program, which offers real-world work experience for 25 students. SK&H Student interns improve their skills in work ethic, presentation, etiquette, problem solving, and creative business thinking. Jody also actively supports Portland State University's women's basketball program and values the relationship the company has with the team. Awards: Jody was named Creative Director of SK&H by the American Marketing Association's MAX Award in 2008 for Best Single Medium Print Advertising. In the same year, the Portland Business Journal was named an Orchid Award Winner. In 2007 she was named Ultimate Rainmaker of the Year by Commerce Magazine. Jody received special recognition from her colleagues in 2006 as one of the Top 50 Superlawyers in Oregon and one of the Top 25 Women. In 2005, SK&H was the first to receive the prestigious Better Business Bureau Award for Big Company of the Year for excellence in integrity, community service, community participation and innovative business practices. Jody was also recognized as a top contributor to the Lawyer’s Campaign for Equal Justice. In 2003, Jody received the Alumni Service Award from Linfield College for her efforts to improve her alma mater. Jody is recognized by the Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College and the Oregon Law Institute as a Program Sponsor in Protecting the Rights of the Child. Jody received the White Rose Award at the 2001 March of Dimes Salute to Women of Excellence. In 2000, Jody was recognized as part of the Advocate for Equal Justice Campaign for a decade of promoting access to justice. Jody and her husband John Crawford visit Trinity Episcopal Church.
