Work Experience: Jody Stahancyk has built her reputation as a strong woman with a generous heart, a formidable opponent in the courtroom, and a pillar of her community. She started her law firm in 1973 as an assistant district attorney in Multnomah County, where she successfully prosecuted for 6 years. In 1979 she was appointed a judge (Pro-tem Judge) of the Juvenile Court of Multnomah County, where she sat until 1982. After that appointment, she served for a year as an assistant attorney general in the Oregon Consumer Protection Department. From 1983 until she began private practice in 1986, Jody was a full-time mother and wife. Jody received special recognition from her colleagues in 2006 as one of the Top 50 Superlawyers in Oregon and one of the Top 25 Women. In 2005, SK&H was the first to receive the prestigious Better Business Bureau Award for Big Company of the Year for excellence in integrity, community service, community participation and innovative business practices. Jody was also recognized as a top contributor to the Lawyer’s Campaign for Equal Justice. In 2003, Jody received the Alumni Service Award from Linfield College for her efforts to improve her alma mater. Jody received the White Rose Award at the 2001 March of Dimes Salute to Women of Excellence.
