Faith A. LaSalle, the founding member of LaSalle & Kelleher P.C., has over 30 years of civil litigation experience. With a main office in Providence, Rhode Island, she represents clients in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts courts. Ms. LaSalle is an advisor to the defense committees of several insurance companies and defends insured persons in cases involving medically complex automobile accidents, traumatic brain injuries, property liability, death and construction accidents. She represents self-insured persons in product liability matters and defends directly named insurance companies in cases of bad faith and non-contractual liability. She also carries out coverage analysis and opinions for insurance companies. In the area of labor law, she advises employers who have been sued for discrimination, sexual harassment, and unfair employment practices in state and federal courts and the Rhode Island Human Rights Commission. Ms. LaSalle has gained extensive litigation experience over the years. has appealed to the Rhode Island Supreme Court and the First Circle Court of Appeals and is an effective attorney who has achieved excellent mediation and arbitration results for her clients. In 2017, she successfully defended a construction accident against a defense ruling after the parties had conducted serious settlement negotiations prior to the trial. In 2019, she represented a national leasing company on an appeal before the Rhode Island Supreme Court over whether a federal law should take precedence over state law based on a federal constitutional argument. In April 2019, Ms. LaSalle was honored as one of the pioneers of the Roger Williams Law School in Rhode Island at the Law School plaque ceremony honoring the First Wome Lawyers of Rhode Island. She is a former president of the Rhode Island Defense Attorney, the local defense law association, and continues to serve on the board of directors. Most recently, she completed a three-year term as Rhode Island State Representative for the Defense Research Institute, a national criminal defense organization dedicated to investigating public order, legal developments and legislative interests in Rhode Island with the Defense Agency. LaSalle's public service over the years has included serving on the board of the state securities investment commission, appointed by the treasurer, and an appointment by the governor as chairman of the former Rhode Island Higher Education Authority. Education has been a focus of her volunteering, which in the past has included serving on a board of directors at a local high school and establishing the local community college. She currently served on the board of directors of the Academic Decathlon.Ms of Rhode Island. LaSalle holds a Bachelor of Arts (magna cum laude) from Brown University, where she was elected Phi Beta Kappa. She received her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law. Her legal career began as an attorney with the Rhode Island Attorney General and the Providence City Legal Department, where she practiced and negotiated a number of government cases before going into private practice. She is licensed in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts, the US District Court for the Massachusetts District, the US District Court for the Rhode Island District, the US First Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
