An attorney at Panish Shea & Boyle, LLP, Deborah Chang provides dedicated legal representation to clients in Los Angeles and throughout Southern California, as well as across the rest of the state. She focuses her practice on personal injury, generally handling cases that involve motor vehicle accidents, private and charter plane crashes, cruise ship accidents, defective auto parts, products liability and wrongful death.In her practice, she was on the trial teams that obtained a recent $160,500,000 verdict for a brain injury in Las Vegas, as well as some of the largest and record wrongful death and personal injury verdicts and settlements in numerous jurisdictions throughout California. She is one of the recipients of the 2019 California Lawyer Attorneys of the Year (CLAY) Award for her work in a pivotal case that resulted in a ruling by the California Supreme Court that universities have a duty to protect its students from known dangers, which has also been listed by the Daily Journal as the Top Appellate Reversal of 2018. Deborah has recently been selected as one of the 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers by Lawdragon 2019, and by the National Law Journal/ALM as one of the 2018 Elite Trial Lawyers in the inaugural Elite Women of the Plaintiffs’ Bar category. She is also the recipient of the CAOC Women’s Caucus 2017 Consumer Advocate of the Year Award for her outstanding commitment to furthering the education and careers of women trial lawyers. Deborah is a member of the Los Angeles chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”), where she serves on the Executive Committee and is a National Board Member. She is also on the Executive Committee (1st Vice President) of the CAOC, and serves as the Chair of the Legislative Committee.
