Attorney Damian R. Sheets is a senior partner at Nevada Defense Group in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Sheets focuses his practice on criminal defense. He represents Las Vegas residents at the state and federal levels involving domestic violence, drug crimes, sex crimes and other misdemeanors and felonies.Mr. Sheets graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and earned his law degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law. While attending law school, he acquired legal experience through clerking for a federal judge and a private law firm as well as working as an extern for the Office of the Clark County Public Defender.Before joining Nevada Defense Group, Mr. Sheets founded his own practice focused on criminal and family law. He later served as a prosecutor for the city of Henderson, a role in which he prosecuted numerous cases and served as lead attorney for the criminal appeals department.Mr. Sheets has received many awards for his achievements as a criminal defense attorney. He has been recognized by publications and organizations including the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys, the American Society of Legal Advocates, the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, The National Trial Lawyers, Nevada Business magazine and Newsweek magazine.Committed to giving back to his community, Mr. Sheets has also participated on the Clark County Bar Association’s Indigent Defense panel.
