Cheryl G. Kushida, founder of COMPASS LEGAL, represents clients in the Bay Area on legal issues related to estate planning and inheritance. With her experience in national and international business transactions, she approaches each case with the customer's goals and a strategy for how best to achieve them. As a member of the lawyers of East Bay Trusts and Estates, Ms. Kushida attended Scripps College, where she graduated cum laude and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations and spent a semester in Singapore. She then attended the University of California at the Berkeley School of Law, where she graduated with her Juris Doctor degree in 2006. She was a contributor to the Berkeley Journal of International Law and co-chaired the Pilipino American Law Students (PALS) at Berkeley Law.Ms. Kushida is fluent in English, Tagalog and Bisaya and can converse in Spanish. She has lived in the Philippines, Tokyo, Singapore and the United States, which gives her insight into the unique cultural and socio-economic backgrounds of different groups of people. During her law degree, she served as an external attorney for the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission and an external associate for the Legal and Applications Division of the San Francisco Supreme Court. Known for her professional achievements and Ms. Kushida has over a decade of experience working with people who want to prepare for the future. Licensed in California, she uses strategy, problem solving, and negotiation to prepare clients and their assets for whatever the future may bring.
