Phillip Bettis focuses his law practice in the north Atlanta metropolitan area on real estate law, alternative dispute resolution such as mediation, business law, probate and estate planning. He is approved by the Georgia Commission on Dispute Resolution as a Mediator, Arbitrator and Early Neutral Evaluator and is an associate judge for the Forsyth County Georgia Magistrate Court and occasionally the Superior Court of Forsyth County.With a focus on the material sales, charitable and banking industry, Mr. Bettis formerly represented the Forsyth County Board of Education. After earning his Bachelor of Business Administration at Mercer University, he studied at and graduated from Emory University School of Law in 1980 with his Juris Doctor. Bettis is passionate about community service and volunteer work. He is a board member of the Forsyth County Community Foundation, the No Longer Bound organization and the North Georgia Community Foundation. The Metro Atlanta YMCA named him the Volunteer of the Year in 2004, and in 2005, he chaired the Committee on Professionalism within the State Bar of Georgia. He is also chairman of The Benjamin F. Brady Charitable Foundation.A talented author, Mr. Bettis has published his own book titled The Little Book of Annoying Questions. He has also written a column for Forsyth County News. After saving a two-year-old from a swimming pool, he was given several community awards.
