A founding member of Avery | Kill, LLC, Annemarie E. Kill focuses her practice largely on family law matters. She assists clients in the Chicago metropolitan area who are facing the end of their marriages and who are dealing with issues such as complex property division, child custody and visitation rights, alimony and child support. To that end, Ms. Kill has extensive experience in the preparation of qualified domestic relations orders that are required for the division of most private retirement plans as well as with qualified Illinois domestic relations orders when dealing with Illinois state or municipal plans.Outside of the matrimonial area, Ms. Kill's family law experience includes the preparation of prenuptial agreements, paternity disputes, adoptions and grandparents' rights. She also has an employment law practice, providing representation to employees in cases involving workplace discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, Family and Medical Leave Act disputes, and wage and hour violations. Ms. Kill received her legal education at DePaul University College of Law and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1995. She founded her current firm in 2000. Admitted to practice in Illinois, Ms. Kill is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association Assembly, which is that organization's policy making body.
