- Alisa A. Peskin-Shepherd is an experienced family law attorney and mediator in Birmingham, Michigan. With her law firm, Transitions Legal - Law Offices of Alisa Peskin-Shepherd, Ms. Peskin-Shepherd handles a wide range of cases involving family law topics such as divorce, alimony, child support, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, parenting agreement, parenting time, property settlements, stepparent adoption, post-judgment issues and more. She represents individuals in Birmingham and throughout the Detroit metropolitan area.Ms. Peskin-Shepherd is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she earned a degree in community development and urban planning. She has been licensed to practice in all Michigan state courts since 1987.Using her extensive training and experience to educate and help others is something that Ms. Peskin-Shepherd greatly enjoys. She has led workshops on topics such as divorce and mediation for educational institutions such as Wayne State University and organizations including Michigan's chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.Active in Michigan's legal community, Ms. Peskin-Shepherd is a member of bar associations including the Oakland County Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan. She also serves on the board of directors of the Women's Divorce Resource Center and the Family Mediation Council of Michigan.Ms. Peskin-Shepherd also participates in alternative dispute resolution organizations including the Collaborative Practice Institute of Michigan and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
