- As an attorney with Meynardie & Nanney, PLLC, Joseph H. Nanney Jr. represents clients in North Carolina in cases of commercial, business and construction law. Named to the 2014 Legal Elite Hall of Fame by Business North Carolina Magazine, Mr. Nanney has negotiated contracts for almost all types of construction, represented businesses of all sizes as outside general counsel, recovered stolen funds, developed exit strategies for franchisees and helped his clients gain control of their businesses when they split.For clients who have been accused of violating regulatory schemes, Mr. Nanney has appeared before a long list of state licensing boards. These include the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners, the North Carolina Real Estate Commission, the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors, the North Carolina Board of Architecture, the North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners and the North Carolina Medical Board.A graduate of Mars Hill University, Mr. Nanney obtained his bachelor’s degree in music in 1983 and earned summa cum laude honors. He then attended the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he graduated with honors, earned his Juris Doctor and was an editor for the North Carolina Law Review. For over 28 years, Mr. Nanney has litigated disputes in the United States through arbitrations, mediations, bench trials and jury trials.Mr. Nanney has appeared before the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. His clients include the following: software creators, manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, retailers, real estate agents, pharmacists, physicians, contractors, and small-business owners.
