John S. Furlong is a co-founder of West Trenton, New Jersey-based Furlong and Krasny. Representing clients throughout the state, he focuses his practice primarily on criminal defense, with a particular emphasis on homicide and sex crimes. Jack Furlong also has extensive experience in complex civil litigation, including insurance fraud, defamation, and civil rights violations under 42 U.S. Code Section 1983. He has been retained as an expert witness on multiple occasions in the area of attorneys in criminal practice.Mr. Furlong received a Bachelor of Arts in 1972 and a Juris Doctor in 1976. A former assistant prosecutor, deputy attorney general, and county counsel, Mr. Furlong is admitted to practice in New Jersey, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has appeared in federal courts in the Southern District of California, District of Connecticut, Middle District of Florida, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, and the 33rd District Court in Blanco County, Texas. He has also been certified in criminal trial law by the Board on Attorney Certification of the Supreme Court of New Jersey since 1983, and he has tried hundreds of cases to verdict throughout his career. A former legal analyst for MSNBC, Jack Furlong regularly appears on television and radio broadcasts to discuss criminal law topics, as well as to give commentary on criminal trials involving athletes and other public figures.
