The founder of her own law firm located in Apopka, Florida, Kimra D. Major-Morris provides representation in a variety of matters to people and businesses throughout the country. She focuses a large portion of her practice on intellectual property issues, and in that regard, she has extensive experience in trademark registration and licensing, trade secret agreements, and copyright registration and compliance. Ms. Major-Morris also prepares and reviews several types of contracts, including producer, songwriter and artist agreements as well as those pertaining to independent contractors. Her clients have included Grammy Award nominees as well as contestants on such television shows as "American Idol" and "The Voice".Prior to pursuing a legal career, Ms. Major-Morris was a promotions coordinator for Bobby Brown Productions and Mr. Brown's personal assistant. She later was a chyron and camera operator for Turner Broadcasting and a video editor for HBO Latin America Group, and she spent several years with Black Entertainment Television as a photographer and videographer. Ms. Major-Morris majored in communications and television broadcasting as an undergraduate at Florida International University, from where she received a Bachelor of Arts in 1990. Her legal education came at Florida A&M University College of Law, and she was the president of the school's Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Society before being awarded her Juris Doctor in 2007.Ms. Major-Morris founded her firm in May 2009. She is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She is a past chair of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar.
