As a founding member of Cronin, Fried, Sekiya, Kekina & Fairbanks, Gerald Y. Sekiya has over four decades of experience representing the people of Hawaii in matters of personal injury. With a focus on automobile accidents, aviation accidents, medical malpractice, products liability and toxic torts, he has been named a fellow to the American College of Trial Lawyers and is admitted to practice in Hawaii and California, as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9TH Circuit.Mr. Sekiya began his education at the University of Illinois where he earned a Bachelor of Science, graduating with honors and as a member of the national engineering honor society Tau Beta Pi before moving on to the University of California Hastings College of the Law to earn a Juris Doctor, also graduating with honors. During his time in law school, he was a member of the Order of the Coif and an editor of the Law Review.With extensive trial experience in defective products, Mr. Sekiya is currently the president of the Hawaii Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates and a past president of the Hawaii Trial Lawyers Association and the Consumer Lawyers of Hawaii. He is also a current member of the American Bar Association, The State Bar of California, the Hawaii State Bar Association, the American Board of Trial Advocates and a former state delegate for the American Association for Justice.Before founding the practice, Mr. Sekiya worked as a grader for the California Bar Exam as he worked to encourage understanding of personal injury law in new attorneys.
